Two Cool Yahoo ‘Tools’ You can Use

This is an article to show you how to quickly use two valuable

Yahoo 'tools' ... the ‘site:’ command and the ‘link:' command.

(Obviously, first go to Yahoo at http://www.Yahoo.com.)

First, we'll use the 'site:' command ...

You'll now use the 'Search the Web' box.

Pick any domain to look up. We'll use my First Contact Secrets

which URL you use.)

Now - we'll check to see how many of my pages Yahoo has found

and added to its index.

Type this in the box ... site:firstcontactsecrets.com ...

Here is the result I got: Results 1 - 10 of about 343 for

site:firstcontactsecrets.com. What this means is that

Yahoo has found 343 of my pages.

(NOTE: Each of my blog entries is its own page, plus all my

‘regular’ site pages.)

So - what did we discover? We found how many pages (343)

of a given URL (my FCS site) Yahoo has found and indexed.

(This is valuable to find if more than your home page has been

by Yahoo.)

(NOTE: I did NOT pay the $300 to Yahoo to get indexed.)

Next, we'll use the 'link:' command ...

In the Search the Web box, type in

"link:http://www.firstcontactsecrets.com" ...

(NOTE: Pay attention to the different way we just referred

to the URL. Each command uses different syntax.)

Here is the result I got: Results 1 - 10 of about 523 for

link:http://www.firstcontactsecrets.com ...

So - what did we discover? We found how many links (523) are

linked to a given URL (my FCS site) Yahoo has found and indexed.

(This is valuable to find how many sites link to your site.)

(NOTE: Linking is a good practice for you to employ. Search

engines like links, and links are a great way to send targeted

traffic to your site.)
