The Truth on How to Overcome Your Stumbling
Blocks
By Chip Tarver
That's right - we all have them ... the dreaded
stumbling
blocks. So we have exactly 2 options - deal with them and
enjoy the rewards ... or hide from them and continue to be
blind-sided as we suffer our way through ...
I like option one, so here's some help for you based on what
I've learned (not just what I think might work.)
Tip #1 - Love and accept yourself; your mirror is your friend
Why is this tip #1? "You" is all you have to work with. You're
wonderful and valuable just like you are. You have valuable
knowledge and experience no one else has.
If you're surrounded by negative people whose goal it is to
steal or squash your dreams, change your surroundings today.
It's a new day today. If you keep doing the same things you
did before - nothing will change.
The only difference in "doing it" and not doing
it ... is "doing it."
Go for it today!
Tip #2 - Who Says It's All About You? The Art and Skill Of
Listening
One of the most surefire, fastest ways to turn away people
is when you're all concerned about *you.* If the first thing
you say to someone is why you're so great and why your
product (or service, etc.) is so great - you just fell out of
the boat without a life jacket.
('Hope you can swim with the sharks ...)
Although this saying is beat to death these days - nonetheless
it remains 100% true, and folks in the know will tell you this ...
the person with whom you're interacting typically cares about
exactly one thing - "What's in it for me?"
You have 2 ears and 1 mouth for a VERY good reason. When you
can keep the ratios in check using these two organs, you've made
a great stride. Listen first ... talk second.
You'll be the "life of the party."
Tip #3 - What about me, Boss (customers make all the rules)
I am your client ... I am your boss ... I have your money.
Come and get it, if you dare ...
I don't know you, I don't trust you, and right now I don't
even like you. So what are you going to do about that, Mr.
or Ms. Big Shot? My thoughts when I see you are ...
"So what?"
"Who Cares?"
"What's in it for me?"
"Go ahead ... impress me ... you have 7 seconds - I'm busy."
"Right now, you have no credibility with me, I'm too busy to
read what you write to me, I'm not really interested in what
you have to say, and there are a hundred other people just
like you clamoring for my attention."
"My boss is fussing about my numbers, my employees are all
a bunch of spoiled brats, our marketing budget has been cut,
and my boss expects ME to be a Miracle Worker."
OK - enough is enough. Like it or not ... agree or not ... these
are the exact attitudes you face every time you approach
someone for business. Re-read them again. Some, most, or all
of these describe the pressures under which your customers
operate.
Pretty tough neighborhood - isn't it?

attitudes at both my primary website easily located at ...
