Let’s start out with a question here…

I think this question is very important and may help a lot of people to figure out the absolute best way to start making the perfect first contact!

“What is your main purpose … your main objective when you are making that first contact?”

This is one question I know most people do not ask themselves BEFORE they actually attempt to make a first contact with someone.  I’m not just talking about contacting the big boys here either.  I’m talking about contacting anyone for the first time for any reason!

That first contact is the most important one, and if you are doing business online (which you most likely are), then you REALLY need to make sure your first contact with people accomplishes your main purpose and your main objective.

Here’s a good example…

If you are contacting a customer for the first time, your main purpose will most likely be to present yourself, your product and your business as a professional.  Start the trust building process.  Start building a good, quality relationship with the customer.

You would not do this by sending a one-line email saying, “Here’s your download - thanks for the cash”…

You would want to talk with that customer for a bit in the email. 

Tell them how to contact you if they have problems or questions. Then you would follow up with them to make sure they are okay and they know how to use what they purchased from you.

Well, you should treat your first contact with everyone online in this same manner!  You don’t need to hit people with a proposal right out of the gate; most people will just delete your email if you do. 

You should build a lasting relationship with people and become acquaintances or friends in good standing first, then think about what BOTH parties can do together to ...
