Three years
ago a fellow by the name of Larry Dotson sent me an email. It was brief and to
the point. He said he had written a book about hypnotic writing and he wanted to
know if I would take a look at it. He said if I liked it, he hoped I would give
him an endorsement.
His
email was brief, polite, and relevant. I immediately replied and told him to
send the book. He did.
I
loved the book so much that I almost begged to be the co-author of it. Larry
agreed. Together we added new material to the book, rounded it out, and released
it as "The Hypnotic Writing Swipe File." It's been a bestseller ever
since. See http://www.HypnoticWritingSwipeFile.com
And
since that first email, Larry and I have coauthored seven more books.
How
Larry contacted me is how I want anyone to contact me:
That's
it. Anything more and you risk not even having your email read. Send me what is
the equivalent of a "query letter." If I want to know more or see
more, I'll ask.
I've
had many people write me long, windy letters trying to state their case and
convince me to help promote their products. Most of the time they bored my pants
off.
And
I really hate it when they send attachments. Back when I was on a dial-up
connection, anyone sending me a book, audio, or video as attached files in
email made my blood boil.
There's
nothing like sitting at your computer waiting for unknown files to download
minutes to hours later, only to discover it's unrequested and unimportant.
Arggghh!
As
for what I'm looking for, I think anyone who contacts me should be aware of my
interests. I'm known for marketing, copywriting, spirituality, personal growth
and fast healings. If your product doesn't fall anywhere near those
categories, you probably shouldn't be writing to me.
I urge people to check out ...
