
Since I recently co-authored a book on using offline techniques to market
online, naturally, I like an offline approach.
And, I like a theme in that offline approach that reflects a quote I
heard years ago.
I
don’t know who said it, but it’s based on “The Golden Rule” that we all
learned growing up: “Do unto other as you would have them do unto you.”
This
is The Golden Rule with a twist:
“Do
unto others what they would do for themselves, IF they could.”
I
call “The Golden Rule Of Joint Ventures.”
We
all have things we’d like to do that we can’t. We may not have the expertise
or experience. Most likely of all,
we don’t have the time to learn the expertise or get the experience.
So
I believe the most effective way to generate a joint venture is to figure out
what your prospective partner NEEDS to do or would LIKE to do for themselves –
but can’t.
Find
a way to do it for them, and you have the basis of a promising joint venture.
For

I
attended Joel’s MasterListBuilder Workshop in San Antonio in October 2002.
